The Conference Board
. That means there were 2.5 jobs advertised last month for every 100 people in the labor force. It was the second highest monthly reading in the history of the index, which began in 2005. The most advertised jobs were also the highest-paying, on average: management, which had 406,100 vacancies, and business and financial operations, which had 333,100. Hartford ranked among the 10 largest metro-areas where the number of advertised jobs exceeded the number of unemployed.
