Connecticut labor cops slapped stop-work citations on five out-of-state contractors working at the Chase Bank branch construction site in New Haven, authorities say.
The state Labor Department’s Division of Wage and Workplace Standards said Thursday they showed up Wednesday at 149 Amity Road, on a tip from the federal Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
There, state labor authorities say the quintet couldn’t produce papers proving they were properly credentialed to work in Connecticut, nor could they prove they were enrolled in worker’s compensation.
The five are banned from doing any more work in Connecticut until they satisfy the state’s registration/licensing requirements, and show proof of having worker’s comp coverage, the labor agency said.
They are:
• Franchise Contractors of Elmsford, NY
• Extreme Drywall of Fishkill, NY
• Dani’s Home Builders of Mt. Vernon, NY
• Floor Expo of Merrick, NY
• Premium Decorating of Middletown, NJ
