On Goal At Gerber

June Han, a South Korea native, is living her dream. She earned an MBA from the University of New Haven and has landed several positions in the states since graduating, a testament to her ambition.

Recently, she took another step toward achieving her career goals. Han was recently named marketing communication manager at Gerber Scientific Products in South Windsor.

“All things came together with the right location and the right position,” she said. “I always had a goal and dream to be advancing my career by this point in my life, and I have.”

Her road to success began in South Korea where Han, 40, grew up. She graduated from Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand in 1993 with a degree in business English; she minored in hotel management.

As an undergraduate, she became increasingly interested in business and marketing as well as the English language, so she made it her goal to earn an MBA in the United States.

After graduating with an MBA with a concentration in international business in 1996, she was hired as a marketing manager trainee at Seton Identification Products and then as a marketing specialist at Nyconn Data Systems before joining Zackin Publications in their communications department as marketing and circulation manager.

Following seven years at Zackin, an opportunity arose at Gerber Scientific Products.

It offered the Hamden resident the opportunity to target a smaller audience and industry, a factor that was particularly appealing to Han.

“We get to present the U.S. product internationally,” Han said. “That is most rewarding.”
