The Board of Regents for Higher Education formally named Mark E. Ojakian president of the Connecticut State College and University System (CSCU) and extended his contract another three years.
Ojakian had been working under the title of “interim” president. Instead of expiring on Aug. 31, 2017, his contract now extends to Aug. 31, 2020. His salary of $335,000 remains the same, CSCU said.
The board, which voted on the changes Thursday, oversees 12 community colleges, four state universities, and Charter Oak State College.
This year, CSCU will serve almost 85,000 students on its 17 campuses.
