Ohio vendor signs CT, Mass. credit unions

A pair of Connecticut and Massachusetts credit unions have signed on for automated teller machine and debit-card processing services from an Ohio vendor.

General Electric Employees Federal Credit Union (GEEFCU)  in Milford and Wemelco Credit Union in Springfield signed contracts with Cincinnati-based Vantiv for ATM and debit card transaction processing, ATM driving, card production and network gateway access.

Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

GEEFCU has more than $130 million in assets with 12 locations and 10 ATMs and more than 21,000 members.

Wemelco, an industrial credit union serving the energy industry, serves more than 1,900 members, including employees of Northeast Utilities and its subsidiaries — Connecticut Light & Power and Yankee Gas.
