Ohio firm with Southington branch goes private

An Ohio retirement plan consultant with a Southington affiliate has taken itself private as part of an expansion strategy.

United Retirement Plan Consultants, formerly National Investment Managers Inc., formed a partnership with Stonehenge Partners Inc. as part of the privatization. Financial terms were not disclosed.

John M. Davis was named president and CEO of United Retirement, based in Dublin, Ohio.

United Retirement administers approximately 10,000 retirement plans with $11 billion of assets through its 18 local affiliates in 15 states.

Wholly-owned subsidiaries of United Retirement are based, among others, in   North Attleboro, Mass.; Haddonfield, N.J.; New York City and Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; and Warwick, R.I.
