A landscaping business in Bloomfield plans to relocate to a new, larger facility on Blue Hills Avenue.
SavATree, a national tree service and lawn care company, says it has outgrown its current location at 12 Northwood Drive and plans to move to a new facility about 2 miles away at 1404 Blue Hills Road.
The Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday approved a special permit with conditions for the project. The application was submitted by Provence Land Co., the new real estate division of Torrington-based O&G Industries, headed by Matt Oneglia, a vice president at O&G.
The 10.14-acre property, owned by Babcock & Brown Parallel Industrial LLC, of Salisbury, also houses a separate existing building, which is home to The Rideshare Co., a nonprofit employee transportation service.
Provence Land Co. plans to build a 6,000-square-foot building with an office, garage and workshop for SavATree, which intends to lease the space.
The new building will be accessed from Mustad Road, which runs along the northeastern side of the property.
SavATree also has Connecticut locations in New Milford, Old Saybrook and Norwalk.
