Uline, a Wisconsin-based distributor of shipping, industrial and packaging materials, is hiring more than 200 employees for its newest warehouse in Plainfield, saying operations will begin in July.
The positions available include warehouse associates, custodians, mechanics, warehouse management and human resources roles.
Uline is offering a one-time $5,000 hiring bonus. The positions also offer health coverage, a 401(k), and tuition assistance for continuing education.
Nationally, Uline employs some 9,800 people across 14 regional locations and 17 sales offices, including more than 1,000 employees in the Northeast region. Founded in 1980, the company is family-owned.
Uline has said the 1.3 million-square-foot Plainfield distribution center could eventually grow its headcount to 500.
Currently, Uline is servicing its New England territory out of an Allentown, Pennsylvania distribution center, and the company had been on the hunt for a strategic location in the region for some time.
Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island, were also on the short list for the new facility before Plainfield won out.
