• Cronin & Co. won eight awards at the Publicity Club of New England’s 38th annual Bell Ringer Awards. The agency won five high honors for work on behalf of the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection’s “No Child Left Inside” campaign and three merit awards for work on Garelick farms “Milk Masterpiece” and Insure Connecticut’s Future.
• The Comcast Foundation granted $25,000 to the Greater Hartford Literacy Council in support of book grants for literacy-related programs for local low income children and families.
• The following organizations made these donations to Operation Fuel in Bloomfield: James H. Nappier Foundation, $10,000; Ensworth Charitable Foundation, $7,500; and Paul Newman Foundation, $5,000.
