• Smith Brothers received the 2007 Workforce Star Award from Capital Workforce Partners in North Central Connecticut. The Glastonbury company was one of the top four organizations to demonstrate strong commitment to help employees expand their education and improve job skills.

• The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain was recognized with the Partners for Change Award from Hospitals for a Healthy Environment. The hospital was chosen for its efforts in decreasing hazardous and biomedical waste and increasing recycling.

 

• A $5,000 grant was awarded to the New England Air Museum by the Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. The grant is in support of the museum’s SOAR for Science program for sixth grade students in Hartford’s West Middle Elementary School.
