• The following grants were provided to these local organizations from the Ronald McDonald House Charities first quarter: My Sisters’ Place, Hartford, $21,280; Maple Street School, Rockville, $10,000; Almada Lodge Times Farm Camp Corp., Andover, $10,000; Easter Seals Connecticut – Rhode Island for the Meriden Child Development Center Playground, $9,190; Hartford Knights; $10,000; and Soul Friends, Wallingford, $1,800.

• Staff and volunteers at A.C. Moore in Plainville donated handmade caps, hats and scarves to the Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center at the UConn Health Center. The donation is part of a program between A.C. Moore and the American Cancer Society.

• Lego received the bronze Reggie Award from the Promotion Marketing Association in the kids targeted promotion category for its Lego Free the Band campaign.
