Hartford Hospital Honored For Technology — Hartford Hospital has been named one of the nation’s 100 Most Wired hospitals for the fourth consecutive year by Hospitals & Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association. The Most Wired survey of 1,280 hospitals focused on how the nation’s hospitals use technology for customer service, public health and safety, business processes and workforce issues and showed a continued trend of incorporating technology into patient care.

Sales Benefit Camp Program — Cumberland Farms marked the grand opening of its newest convenience store with a fundraiser to benefit the campers of the Vernon Parks and Recreation Department. Starting July 14, Cumberland Farms will donate 20 cents from every Chill Zone beverage and cup of coffee sold at the 421 Talcottville Road location to benefit Send-a-Kid-to-Camp Program. The funds raised will go towards providing camp and recreational supplies.

Civics First Mock Trial Summer Camp Competition — The Hartford Judicial District Courthouse was the scene July 16 as 26 students from across the state participated in a mock trial Summer camp. The culmination of the four-day camp for middle and high school students was a mock trial in a real courthouse with real judges and peer mentors. The program was presented by Civics First Inc., the new name of The Connecticut Consortium for Law and Citizenship Education Inc., a non-profit organization that has implemented programs throughout Connecticut schools since 1976. Civics First promotes and conducts law-related education programs and projects in Connecticut’s public and private schools, courtrooms and communities. Its goal is the incorporation of citizenship education into the curriculum of all schools, from kindergarten through high school.
