The fine art of Nancy Jo Hoffman will be the focus of an exhibit and wine tasting Sept. 7 sponsored by The Investors Center in Avon.
Hoffman, a West Hartford resident, works in oils with an American impressionist style. She is a past-president of the West Hartford Art League and chairs the Art in Public Places Committee. Her work has appeared in juried shows sponsored by the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Avon Art Association, the Jekyll Island Art Association and the West Hartford Art League.
The free event will be from 6-8 p.m. The artwork will remain on display through early December.

West Hartford-based financial representative Bob Roth received Northwestern Mutual’s Diamond Award at the company’s 130th annual meeting in Milwaukee on July 27. A new “Earn Your Sea Legs” marketing campaign that encourages families to break away from their old summer routines has increased attendance at Mystic Seaport. The campaign features television, online and social media initiatives that highlight Mystic Seaport’s memorable and authentic activities. Currently celebrating its 80th anniversary, the Mystic Museum features a re-created 19th-century seafaring village, tall ships, a working preservation shipyard, exhibits and a planetarium.
