OF NOTE

• DiversityBusiness.com has selected the Goodman Speakers Bureau of Windsor as one of the Top 50 Women Owned Businesses in Connecticut. The award recognizes the bureau as an outstanding entrepreneurial organization which supports a diverse workforce. Awards will be presented at the 10th annual DiversityBusiness.com Multicultural Awards Ceremony and Conference, which will be held at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center in Washington, D.C., on April 27-29. The awards are based on annual gross revenue and a comprehensive profile, which was compiled as part of DiversityBusiness’s 10th annual business survey. More than 650,000 businesses in the United States qualified to participate in the survey.

Litchfield County Board of Realtors’ “Have a Heart for Kids” program presented, on March 10, Wal-Mart, Kmart and Stop N’ Shop gift cards in the amount of $1,306 to representatives of the Torrington office of the state Department of Children and Families. Gift cards were donated because they are readily available for immediate use by DCF workers, enabling the creation of placement packs ahead of time for immediate use when an emergency situation develops, versus waiting for the release of funds from the state.
