The Eastern Connecticut Health Network in Manchester recently elected new board officers at its annual meeting, including: Dennis O’Neill, partner at Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants, chair; Robin S. Murdock-Meggers, attorney-partner at Falkenstein, Meggers, & Paul P.C., vice chair; Craig Lappen, president of 21st Century Financial Advisors, treasurer; Michele Conlon, partner at Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants, secretary; and Wilson Vega, president of Connecticut Business Systems LLC, trustee. Elected corporators are William H. W. Crawford, IV, president and CEO of Rockville Bank; Wolfgang F. Kuenzler, principal of the Vernon/Manchester Adult Night School; Matthew J. ATTORNEYS JOIN domestic violence BOARD
The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence recently announced that attorneys David Bogan of Robinson & Cole and Heather Spaide of The RAE Law Group have been selected to serve on its board of directors. The coalition, headquartered in East Hartford, serves as the professional organization for the 18 domestic violence agencies operating throughout the state working closely with its members to understand and respond to the ongoing needs of domestic violence victims and their families.

CT LANDSCAPE architects ELECT PRESIDENT
The Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recently elected Jeff Olszewski, a landscape architect with Fuss & O’Neill Inc. in Manchester, as president for the upcoming year. He will head up the chapter’s executive committee, the main governing body of the 275-member professional association. Founded in 1899, the society is the national professional association for landscape architects, representing more than 16,000 members in 48 professional chapters and 68 student chapters.

BUILDING PROJECTS GARNER top HONORS
Moser Pilon Nelson Architects in Wethersfield was recently awarded the 2011 Connecticut chapter of the American Institute of Architects People’s Choice Award for a commercial/industrial project for the new 42,000-square-foot Indian Valley Family YMCA facility in Ellington. The facility includes an eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool, warm water family pool, whirlpool and an outdoor walking track.
In addition, BL Companies in Meriden won the award for educational project for the Mary M. Hooker Environmental Sciences Magnet School in Hartford. In addition to expanded parking, a new cafeteria and a drop-off area for school buses, the upgrades consisted of a butterfly vivarium, a 30-seat interactive film theater, a laboratory with 50 freshwater and saltwater aquariums for fish breeding, a weather station, a glass-shrouded lobby with a fish pond and a greenhouse.

LIFE STAR NABS NATIONAL AWARD
The LIFE STAR program, owned and operated by Hartford Hospital, has been selected as a recipient of the Association of Air Medical Services Program of the Year. The award, the highest recognition an air medical transport program can receive, recognizes an emergency medical program that has demonstrated the highest level of patient care, management bravery, quality leadership through visionary and innovative approaches, customer service, safety consciousness, marketing ingenuity, community service and commitment to the medical transport community as a whole.
