Data Management named
Business Leader of the Year
Data Management Inc., a privately owned manufacturer of proprietary printed products, has been named Business Leader of the Year by the Farmington Chamber of Commerce.
In a tough economic environment, the 50-year-old company has stayed profitable while launching new products into new markets worldwide via new distribution channels.
It also launched a second business — Infinity Music Hall and Bistro in Norfolk. The acclaimed venue shares human resources and office space in Farmington with Data Management. A favorite company charity is New Horizons Village, a Farmington apartment complex that serves adults with physical disabilities. The company provides financial support, printing services, and volunteers for the charity’s annual Strawberry Festival fundraiser in June.
The award will be presented at the chamber’s 45th annual meeting and awards ceremony on May 11 at the Farmington Club.

Baldwin chairs golf outing
Howard Baldwin, chairman and CEO of the Connecticut Whale, will be the honorary chairman of the Circle of Mercy Golf Outing, the Mercy Community’s annual charity tournament benefitting the people it serves and the programs that it delivers.
The tournament, now in its 11th year, is a scramble format. It will be held Monday, June 13, at The Hartford Golf Club in West Hartford. Registration for the event is $275 per individual golfer and $1,100 per foursome. The day of golf will also include a buffet lunch, cocktail hour, dinner, awards, and a silent auction. The Circle of Mercy Golf Outing is a JetBlue Challenge Tournament, awarding vacation packages and other fabulous prizes.

Giuffrida named to board
Mike Giuffrida, president of ForeSite Technologies in East Hartford, has been appointed to the board of Family Life Education, a nonprofit social service agency in Hartford serving children and families since 1987.
Giuffrida founded ForeSite Technologies Inc. in 1997. The company works with business owners and nonprofits to provide for tech solutions.
Family Life Education is a Hartford-based nonprofit that aims to build a healthy community, strengthen families, and promote the well-being of children and youth through education, outreach, and support services.
