INTERCOMMUNITY COO NABS AWARD

Tyler Booth, chief operating officer at InterCommunity, a nonprofit agency providing mental health and addiction services to individuals, families, and communities within the state for more than 30 years, was recently named the winner of the 2nd annual Dorland Health People Awards, in the behavioral therapist category. The awards recognize those who provide outstanding patient care and system improvements across the diverse healthcare landscape.

GIRL SCOUTS TO HONOR ECSU PRESIDENT

The Girl Scouts of Connecticut will recognize the spirit, strength and educational achievements of Elsa M. Núñez, president of Eastern Connecticut State University, at the Breakfast Badge event on Friday, Dec. 2, at The Hartford Club in Hartford. Núñez has more than 20 years of experience as a senior administrator in higher education and is the first Hispanic college president at a state university in Connecticut.

Recently, the Latino and Puerto Rican Affairs Commission honored Núñez with a lifetime achievement award during its 14th annual scholarship awards ceremony in New Haven.

ESPN A TOP EMPLOYER FOR WOMEN IN CABLE

ESPN was recently named one of the top five programming companies for women to work for in the cable industry, according to a survey conducted by Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). The 2011 WICT PAR Survey was conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management in collaboration with the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications AIM Survey.

WINDSOR CAREGIVER’S EFFORTS RECOGNIZED

Windsor’s Pauline Hayes, whose efforts as caregiver to a 91-year-old woman have dramatically improved the woman’s life, recently earned BrightStar Care’s Northeast Region Caregiver of the Year award — given to individuals who embody BrightStar’s mission to improve clients’ quality of life, maintain their dignity, and relieve the stress that their families face on a day-to-day basis. Hayes accompanies her client to all her doctor appointments, keeps the house clean and cooks healthy meals.

UTC VP NAMED TO AIR MUSEUM BOARD

Eileen P. Drake, vice president of operations at United Technologies and a licensed pilot of light sport and military aircraft, has been appointed to the board of directors at the New England Air Museum. She is a graduate of the U.S. Army Aviation Officer School and served active duty as an aviator.
