• Skylightsys Strategic Staffing of East Hartford was recently selected for the Women’s Business Enterprise certification from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. Skylightsys is a women-owned and operated resourcing boutique dedicated to staffing IT professionals with firms throughout the nation. The company specializes in full-time permanent, contract and contract-to-hire placements.
• Lyco Inc., a Manchester remanufacturer of systems furniture for nearly 25 years, has recycled its 20 millionth ton of office furniture. This product would have otherwise been shipped to a landfill. Lyco has been supplying remanufactured systems furniture to corporations throughout New England since 1984.
• Philip L. Gagnon of Colliers Dow & Condon will be coordinating activities of the Commercial Council of the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors, which serves as an advisor for the various legal, educational and practice issues facing commercial brokers. Gagnon is a certified commercial investment member and a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.
• Susan Coleman, a professor of finance at the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business, was elected vice president of research for the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, a national nonprofit that trains and supports entrepreneurs. Coleman is a member of the Hartford Area Business Economists and the Governor’s Economic Advisory Council.
• Ticket Software LLC of Vernon was recently recognized for five-year-revenue growth of 111,580 percent at Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 awards event held at The Metropolitan Club in New York City. The Fast 50 ranks technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies by percentage revenue growth.
• Five individuals were recently honored with the Greater Hartford Convention & Visitors Bureau 2008 “Bring It Home Awards.” They are: the Most. Rev. Henry J. Mansell for bringing the National Council of Catholic Women in 2010; Kevin Jones and Ebert W. Landman Jr. for bringing the Association of Anglican Musicians in 2010; Vicki L. Shotland for bringing the Northeast Passenger Transportation Association in 2009; and June M. Wiehn for bringing the North American Council on Adoptable Children in 2010.
