OF NOTE
• The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy honored Connecticut Light and Power Company and the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund for five energy-efficiency programs. The Energy Conscious Blueprint program, Small Business Energy Advantage program and Energy Opportunities program received “Exemplary Program” awards. Programs were judged for effectiveness and innovation in helping customers increase energy efficiency in homes and businesses.
• “Hands on Schools” installed reading areas, dry-erase boards and other upgrades in the Dr. Ramon E. Betances school with funding from a $25,000 grant from The Home Depot. “Hands on Schools” is an initiative from Hands on Hartford which is a community partner of the school.
• The following quarterly awards were given to employees of Panera Bread at Canton, Manchester, Newington, Enfield, Vernon, Bristol, Glastonbury, and West Hartford locations: Akram Damaj, General Manager of the Quarter; Bakers of the Quarter Maria Barbagallo; Danielle Rucci; Xiomara Vazquez, Via Panera Manager of the Quarter; Associates of the Quarter Carrie Berlepsch; Brandon Small; Clinton Bert Hamm; Christopher Laplante; Jamie Kirschner; Brianna Menard; and Anastasia Farber.
