CT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS HONOR FIRMS FOR DESIGNS
The Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recently announced the winners of its annual Connecticut Design Awards competition — conducted each year to recognize excellence in landscape architectural design, planning and analysis, communication and research.
The “Landscape Architectural Design — Corporate/Institutional” category winners are: Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. (Trumbull/Manchester), excellence award for the memorial at Hartford Distributors Inc. (Manchester); Wesley Stout Associates (New Canaan), honor award for Project Castlerock/Royal Bank of Scotland (Stamford); S/L/A/M Collaborative (Glastonbury), merit award for Emory University, School of Medicine (Atlanta); Stantec (Hamden), merit award for Macombs Dam Park at the former Yankee Stadium site (Bronx, NY)
The “Landscape Architectural Design — Municipal/Public Spaces” category winner is Milone & MacBroom, Inc. (Cheshire), merit award for reconstruction of Rockwell Park (Bristol). The “Landscape Architectural Design — Residential” category winner is Spaulding Landscape Architects (Stamford), honor award for 1/8th acre oasis (Old Greenwich).

uconn’s CALHOUN NAMED NEW ENGLAND CEO’S AGAINST CANCER HONORARY CHAIR
The American Cancer Society has named Jim Calhoun, the University of Connecticut’s Hall of Fame men’s basketball coach, as the honorary chair of the New England Chapter of CEOs Against Cancer — a volunteer forum of CEOs representing New England-headquartered Fortune 1,000 companies and organizations with 1,000 or more employees working to improve the health of employees, organizations and surrounding communities by raising awareness about how to stay well, get well, find cures and fight back against cancer. CEO members will collaborate on a variety of issues facing working professionals. Calhoun, now in his 26th season as head coach at UConn and his 40th year as a collegiate head coach, is one of only five coaches in NCAA history to win three national titles — in 1999, 2004 and 2011.

ZUZOLO EARNS NORTHWESTERN MUTUAL HONOR
