• The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) has announced the 2009 recipients of its 32nd Annual, National Marketing Communications Awards (MCA). The team of Antinozzi Associates of Bridgeport and Bligh Graphics of Simsbury were awarded First Place for Antinozzi’s Direct-Mail Campaign, “Examine,” which also won the People’s Choice Award, voted on by hundreds of conference attendees and selected from more than 50 winning entries. The annual competition is the longest-standing, most prestigious national awards program recognizing excellence in marketing and communications by professional services firms in the design and building industry. The award announcements were made at the SMPS National Conference, Build Business Gala on July 16, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
• Fandotech Inc. of Manchester has been recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing private U.S. companies. “The list[s have] served as evidence of the significant accomplishments of entrepreneurial companies. As an Inc. 5000 honoree, Fandotech shares a prestigious pedigree with some of the most successful businesses in America,” said Editor Jane Berentson. Fandotech attributes their growth to the success of their Managed IT Services and Data Center divisions. Upon receiving the news of Fandotech’s standing, Brian Doyle, VP of business development for the technology firm, said of the honor, “This is a tribute to our team whose diligence, persistence and quality delivery of our services have helped us successfully achieve our revenue goals.”
• Staff from the Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute (CJRI) at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center recently held their first Park Beautification Day at Hartford’s Sigourney Park, located in the Asylum Hill neighborhood. In addition to clearing the park of leaves and debris, CJRI staff members distributed sandwiches and presented backpacks filled with school supplies to the children of the Northend Church of Christ.
