• Mark Sullivan, senior consultant at Sullivan & LeShane Public Relations Inc. in Hartford, received a Lyman Award for outstanding achievement in aviation public relations from United Technologies Corp.
• The New Britain Food Security Collaborative in New Britain received a $10,000 grant from the Catalyst Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain. The grant will be used to fund a part-time staff position to coordinate the organization’s outreach efforts in the community.
• Martin Barletta, general manager of American Furniture Rentals in Rocky Hill, received a 2007 Friend Of The Year Award from the Institute of Real Estate Management. Barletta was recognized for supporting the organization’s mission to further the education of real estate managers and management organizations.
• United Natural Foods Inc. in Rocky Hill installed a solar electric system for its distribution facility in Killingly. The system will generate 600,000 kilowatt hours of clean energy annually and was formerly dedicated at a ceremony with Solar Works Inc.
