• The Connecticut Business Hall Of Fame inducted its 2010 class. Organizations and business leaders honored include Goodwin College, East Hartford; Manafort Brothers, Plainville; Community Renewal Team, Hartford; William McGurk, Rockville Bank, Rockville; and Doug Guthrie, Comcast, Berlin. The Connecticut Business Hall Of Fame showcases successful companies and business leaders through business networking and industry events that are held throughout the state.
• Each year for the past 10 years, Lyman Orchards in Middlefield has donated one dollar of every ticket sold to Lyman’s annual autumn corn maze for the benefit of cancer research. On March 27, at the Apple Barrel Market on the grounds of the orchards, a check for $27,784 was presented to the New England Division of the American Cancer Society. Lyman’s donations to date total more than $265,000 over the past 10 years.
