Obama taps HBJ contributor for panel

Massachusetts business advisor and writer James T. Brett is The White House’s choice to chair the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.

Brett is the president and CEO of The New England Council, a nonpartisan alliance of businesses, academic and health institutions, and public and private organizations. Their goal is promoting economic growth and a high quality of life in the region.

Brett, of Dorchester, is a regular contributor to the opinion pages of the Hartford Business Journal. 

The committee’s role is to provide advice and assistance to the President of the United States and the secretary of Health and Human Services on a broad range of topics that impact people with intellectual disabilities.
