Westport 2-14 Post Road LLC, controlled by Jeffrey Feil, of New York, bought the 13,034-square-foot, two-story building at 2-14 Post Road E.
A New York real estate investment and management firm has acquired a two-story mixed-use retail and residential property in downtown Westport for $5.15 million, expanding its holdings in the town.
Westport 2-14 Post Road LLC, controlled by Jeffrey Feil, of New York, bought the 13,034-square-foot, two-story building at 2-14 Post Road E.
Feil is the CEO of the Feil Organization, a New York-based real estate investment and management firm that owns 95 properties in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana and New York.
Randall Briskin, vice president of leasing for the Feil Organization, said the purchase expands the firm’s investments in a market where commercial real estate has steadily appreciated. The firm already owns three office buildings, two residential properties and two retail properties on Riverside Avenue in Westport, Briskin said.
“This was a logical extension of our great class-A properties in Westport,” he told the Hartford Business Journal.
The recently acquired property includes 10 apartments on the second floor and three retail spaces on the ground floor. Briskin said all 10 apartments and two of the three retail spaces are leased.
“We have a 3,200-square-foot space remaining ,” he said. “We think we’re going to have it leased in six months.”
The seller was State & Main Streets LLC, controlled by Mollie Passero, of Norwalk, Laurie Katz, of Ohio, and Meri Katz, of Colorado.
The building, which occupies a 0.18-acre parcel and was built in 1973, was appraised at $5.48 million and assessed at $3.83 million.
