A New York-based physical therapy provider has entered the Connecticut market after acquiring two local practices and their seven locations.
MOTION PT Group, which also offers occupational and speech therapy services, on Tuesday announced it had acquired Hand Therapy Associates, which has locations in Southington, Bridgeport and Woodbridge, and Ortho Connecticut Physical and Occupational Therapy, which has locations in Norwalk, Westport and Danbury.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
The transactions are part of a broader Northeast expansion for MOTION PT that includes five recent practice acquisitions in New York and New Jersey.
Commenting on the practices his company just bought in Connecticut, CEO Edward Miersch said he has “long admired the therapists who founded them and the staff who helped them earn a great reputation in our industry.”
