Nurses Can Learn From New Patient Simulator

Rockville Bank has made a $10,000 donation to the Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) to help purchase sophisticated simulation equipment that will enhance and improve the education and training of physicians and nurses. Rockville Bank stepped forward with the first major contribution toward a challenge grant from the Timken Foundation for this new ECHN project. The SimMan equipment includes a computerized, adult patient simulator that resembles many real life health scenarios, a birthing simulator to prepare maternity health care providers for various types of obstetrical situations, and male and female multi-venous arms to practice inserting and caring for intravenous access.
