Numotion taps GE exec for CEO role

Rocky Hill’s Numotion, a supplier of wheelchair and rehabilitation equipment, said it has hired Mike Swinford as its new CEO.

Swinford, whose online bio and social media accounts say he lives in Wisconsin, has been with General Electric for 22 years, most recently as president and CEO of GE Healthcare Global Services since 2011.

He succeeds Paul Bergantino, who will remain with Numotion as a consultant during the leadership transition, the company said.

Tim Burfield, a Numotion director, praised Bergantino in a statement for leading the merger of ATG Rehab (the Rocky Hill predecessor of Numotion) and United Seating & Mobility.

Since the merger, Numotion has billed itself as the industry’s largest complex rehab technology company.

“This is a time of significant growth for our company, and we look forward to the addition of Mike to our team, as he has a demonstrated ability to grow and lead multi-location, service-based businesses,” Burfield said.
