Northeast Utilities named former Boston environmental-energy chief James W. Hunt to the Hartford-Boston electric-gas utility owner’s inhouse stable of lobbyists.
Hunt will be vice president of regulatory affairs and community relations for Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire – NU’s utility markets. His boss is Joseph R. Nolan Jr., NU’s senior vice president of corporate relations.
Hunt previously was Boston’s chief of environment and energy. He also served with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs as assistant secretary for environmental review; assistant secretary of government relations and public affairs; and legislative director.
Hunt’s law degree is from Suffolk University Law School and a BA in English from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
He currently sits on several boards and task forces in the Greater Boston area.
