Power generator NRG Energy Inc., which operates power plants in Connecticut, today announced plans to offer $700 million in senior notes due 2019.
The Princeton, N.J.-based company said proceeds will go toward terminating a credit agreement a year earlier than planned, and for general corporate purposes. The credit agreement supports the company’s retail business.
At 11 a.m., NRG traded at $23.90, up 18 cents, or 0.8 percent. (AP)
