The owner of the minor league baseball team in Norwich says the sale of the Norwich Defenders to a Virginia group could be complete by the end of the month.
Lou DiBella says the sale of the team to a Richmond, Va., group is awaiting the filing of paperwork for officials at Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball.
DiBella says no closing date has been scheduled yet.
According to a Richmond newspaper, the plans call for the Richmond group to buy the Defenders for about $15 million and move the team to Virginia at the end of the 2009 season.
The deal must be approved by the Eastern League and by officials at Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball. (AP)
