Norwalk investment analytics firm FactSet Research Systems Inc. said fiscal third-quarter profits rose 12 percent, buoyed by stronger revenues from its expanding subscriber base.
For the quarter ended May 31, net income climbed to $43.3 million, or 92 cents a share, up from $38.7 million, or 81 cents a share, the same period a year ago.
Third-quarter revenues increased to $183.6 million, up 15 percent from a year earlier.
FactSet said its client count was 2,187 at May 31, a net increase of 26 clients during the quarter. Client retention also was improved.
Staffing count was 4,805 at May 31, an increase of 37 employees during the quarter and a third more on the payroll than the same time last year.
