Arch Chemicals Inc. in Norwalk is teaming with an Atlanta company to produce an ingredient to go into paints and coatings to stymie the growth of mold on walls and other surfaces.
Arch said it will incorporate Syngenta’s Sporgard brand technology to inhibit mold from growing on food crops into its own biocide line to be marketed to makers of paints and surface coatings.
Terms were not disclosed.
Arch biocides, among other things, are used as disinfectants in household cleaners and to prevent algae and barnacles from attaching to marine surfaces.
