Infrastructure and construction services group EMCOR has completed the sale of its UK arm to OCS Group UK.
The Norwalk-based Fortune 500 company says the deal was valued at approximately $250 million.
It’s part of the group’s plan to focus on its U.S. operations.
“The completion of the sale of EMCOR UK marks another milestone in accelerating our ‘local execution, national reach’ strategy, which enables us to sharpen our focus on large, diverse and attractive end markets in the United States,” said Tony Guzzi, CEO of EMCOR.
The sale also provides financial flexibility for EMCOR to grow its business, the company said.
EMCOR said it intends to use proceeds from the sale to expand its electrical and mechanical construction and mechanical services businesses, including through acquisitions.
OCS is an integrated facilities management company employing more than 130,000 worldwide. Headquartered in the UK, OCS also has an international footprint across Ireland, Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
