Norwalk firm awarded K of C campus contract 

Emcor Facilities Services Inc. of Norwalk has secured a management contract for the Knights of Columbus’ campus headquarters in downtown New Haven.

EFS, a division of Emcor Group, Inc., a Fortune 500 company, will provide the Catholic organization with a range of services, including operations and building maintenance, janitorial work, grounds maintenance including landscaping and snow removal, mailroom operations, and environmental health and safety work.

The company did not disclose the dollar value or duration of the contract. 

Shari Smith, communications manager for the Knights of Columbus, declined to comment.

According to EFS, it aims to increase efficiencies across all of the Knights’ New Haven properties, which includes about 400,000 square feet of office, warehouse and museum space. 

Mike McElrath, EFS president, said in an announcement the company is “honored” to be selected to operate and maintain the Knights’ Connecticut locations. 

“We’re committed to delivering the highest quality facilities solutions safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively to fulfill the diverse needs of this historic organization,” McElrath said.

It is currently helping to manage, service and maintain more than one billion square feet of space, according to its website.
