Reed’s Inc., a Norwalk-based maker of ginger-based beverages, has appointed its sales leader as chief operating officer following several C-suite changes made this year as part of a corporate reorganization.
Neal Cohane, Reed’s chief sales officer from August 2007 to December 2022, will assume the COO role on Jan. 5, 2026, the company announced in an SEC filing.
Cohane, 65, was previously the chief sales officer at Eastroc Beverages from this March to December, and founded Rootstock Brands Inc. in January 2023.
Before leading Reed’s sales efforts, Cohane served in a number of roles at PepsiCo, SoBe and Coca-Cola, the company said. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Merrimack College.
Reed’s said that Cohane will receive a base annual salary of $320,000 and be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus of up to 80% of his base salary based on achieving certain corporate or individual objectives and milestones determined by the company’s board of directors. He will also be eligible for a $1,000-per-month stipend, which includes a car allowance, and a $500,000 incentive equity award.
CEO Cyril Wallace appointed Cohane as COO after assuming the company’s top leadership post in May. In September, Reed’s announced that its chief commercial officer, Charles Burlson, resigned and that marketing veteran Tina Reejsinghani became its new chief marketing officer.
As part of pursuing a listing on the New York Stock Exchange, Reed’s approved a reverse stock split in October and filed plans for a $10.7 million stock offering in early December.
