Norwalk-based Emcor Group acquires Florida company for $865M

Emcor Group, of Norwalk, which provides construction, industrial, energy and building services, has acquired electrical contractor Miller Electrical Company for $865 million in cash.

Publicly-traded Emcor said it completed the deal earlier this month.

Miller Electric is a Jacksonville, Florida-based electrical contractor that serves the southeastern U.S.

“The addition of Miller Electric marks a meaningful milestone for our company as we advance our goal to broaden our overall construction services platform and offer clients an even wider range of solutions to meet their needs,” Emcor CEO Tony Guzzi said in a statement.

Miller Electric, which has more than 3,500 workers, will operate within EMCOR’s Electrical Construction Services segment under Dan Fitzgibbons, president and CEO of Emcor Electrical Construction Services.

Miller Electric’s leadership team will stay in place and the company will remain headquartered in Jacksonville.

Emcor funded the transaction through cash on hand.
