For the fifth consecutive year, the TJX Foundation is funding Community Mental Health Affiliates' Child & Family Services programs in New Britain and Waterbury to help children who have witnessed or suffered from violence or abuse. CMHA is a private nonprofit provider of mental health and substance abuse treatment, with 13 locations that serve more than 6,000 children, adolescents and adults each year.

Thirteen employees at West Hartford wealth management firm Northstar Wealth Partners joined other volunteers to assist Habitat for Humanity in completing a new home in East Hartford for a family in need. The Northstar team successfully completed various final installations inside the home including bathroom vanities, trim, window blinds, painting, door hardware, closet doors and shelving.

The 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm received the Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce's Non-Profit Award at the chamber's recent annual awards dinner. The private, nonprofit 4-H Education Center was awarded for its outstanding contributions to the community. The 4-H Education Center provides hands-on and farm-to-school experiences to more than 14,000 children throughout the year.

The LifeChoice Donor Services Blue & Green 5K in Windsor raised $90,000 that will be used to educate the public about the critical need for more people in Connecticut and Massachusetts to join the donor registry.
More than 750 friends and supporters created over 65 teams to help raise awareness about the need for more registered organ, tissue and eye donors. Many teams walked in remembrance of a loved one, carrying photos and posters, wearing custom shirts, and carrying banners with messages and photos.
