Travelers donating 130 meals daily amid COVID-19 crisis
Travelers Cos. is donating 130 meals every weekday to programs and services provided by Hartford nonprofit Community Renewal Team (CRT) during the coronavirus crisis.
Travelers is providing free meals from April through at least mid-May from their catering service that would typically serve the property-casualty insurer’s employees, CRT said this week.
CRT says the meals are being served through many of its programs, including CRT Generations, where grandparents are the legal guardians of their grandchildren in Hartford.
Other meals are going to the East Hartford Family Shelter, Veteran’s Crossing in East Hartford and to low-income senior residents at Coventry Place in Bloomfield.
The contributions are part of Travelers’ $5 million pledge to COVID-19 coronavirus relief efforts.
