A total of 18 organizations received $100,000 in grants from The Connecticut Health Foundation to help assist individuals enrolling in or renewing their health insurance coverage. The money will go to the Community Renewal Team in Hartford, the Hispanic Health Council in Hartford, Center for a New Economy in Hartford, and West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District, among others. Access Health CT will train the enrollment assisters. The CT Health Foundation’s goal is to ensure that knowledgeable and trusted in-person resources are available to reduce obstacles for consumers who face multiple barriers, particularly in geographic areas where sizable racially/ethnically diverse populations remain uninsured.

Editor’s note: This item has been corrected to say that Access Health is not the entity receiving the grant, but rather the entity providing training.
