A Hartford nonprofit has won a $1 million federal grant to provide job training to formerly incarcerated residents, Mayor Pedro Segarra’s office announced.
Community Partners in Action will use the money for a 39-month program to train 125 men and women referred by their work release programs.
In addition to training, the programs will provide support services and mentoring, CPA said.
CPA will work with multiple partners on the training program, including the city, the Department of Correction, Capital Workforce Partners, Community Solutions Inc., Open Hearth, Families in Crisis, Global Health Consultants, The Pond House Café and Capital Masonry Co.
