Nonprofit association head Cretaro to step down

Ron Cretaro, executive director of the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits, will step down at the end of the year to pursue other career opportunities, the association announced Friday.

Cretaro has led the association — which lobbies for the interests of nonprofits around the state and provides training, collective purchasing and other programs — for more than 30 years.

CAN said it will appoint an interim executive director upon Cretaro’s departure to lead the organization through the upcoming legislation session.
