No power causes CT DMV base to shut down

Connecticut’s Department of Motor Vehicles headquarters in Wethersfield won’t be opening because of a storm-related power outage, The Associated Press reports.

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has asked most state workers to report to their jobs at 10 a.m. Monday to resume business in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene.

But DMV spokesman Bill Seymour says that agency’s employees are being asked to stay home because of the power outage.
