A global insurer based in New Jersey says it’s breaking into Connecticut after acquiring an independent insurance agency in Prospect.
World Insurance Associates (WIA) LLC, which provides insurance, risk management and benefit consulting services to more than 40,000 individuals and businesses a year, said it completed its purchase of Martin & Rowland Insurance Inc. on April 1.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1845, Martin & Rowland provides automobile, homeowner, life and health insurance plans, and other property and casualty coverage for small to large businesses.
WIA, of Tinton Falls, N.J., says it’s completed 57 acquisitions since its founding in 2012. Today, it serves customers from 40 offices in 10 states and Washington, D.C.
