Niantic has been voted Connecticut’s favorite town by residents and visitors, the Connecticut Office of Tourism announced Tuesday.
The village inside the town of East Lyme won the contest where state tourism officials asked for votes by mail and online throughout April and May of people’s favorite Connecticut town and their favorite attraction inside that town.
The contest voters named the Inn at Harbor Hill Marina Bed & Breakfast as their favorite attraction inside Niantic. As the prize, both Niantic and the Inn at Harbor Hill will be featured in a promotion video from the Office of Tourism.
The contest is part of Connecticut’s “Still Revoluntionary” tourism and branding campaign, which includes featuring many of the state’s destinations. Last year, the Mark Twain House in Hartford was voted Connecticut’s favorite attraction.
