A 1,928-square-foot office building at 1227 Whitney Ave., Hamden has been sold for $350,000. Frank Hird,, SIOR of OR&L Commercial in Branford represented both the seller, Twelve Twenty Seven Whitney Associates, and the buyer, Play More Chess. The Play More Chess Academy anticipates moving chess classes and monthly chess tournaments to this new space in the second half of October and expects to have all operations relocated by November 1. The new space will also be home to the Hamden Chess Club, a U.S. Chess Federation affiliate, and used for casual play as well as monthly tournaments.Â
