A major state-mandated clean and low-emissions energy program will accept bids from developers through June 16.
Utilities Eversource and Avangrid issued an RFP last week that will tee up the fifth year of the Zero Emissions/Low Emissions Renewable Energy Credit programs, known as ZREC and LREC.
State regulators ruled in February that the ZREC program could continue, following a similar decision a year ago regarding LREC.
The programs required utilities to enter into long-term contracts to purchase millions of dollars worth of energy from solar farms, fuel cell plants and other generators deemed renewable under state law.
