Zephyr Secure, a Newtown-based provider of security hardware, has acquired component manufacturing and sourcing companies Royal Hardware and Royal Components International.
Zephyr Secure’s products are used in appliances, toolboxes, vehicles, office furniture and lockers in commercial buildings, schools, fitness and healthcare settings.
Zephyr calls the deal a strategic move to expand the company’s capabilities and hardware offerings. The transaction allows Zephyr to add a specialized product line with Royal’s drawer-slide systems and hardware.
Royal is based in Illinois and also has warehousing in California. Royal Components International specializes in global sourcing of a wide range of engineered components.
“Their addition represents a significant milestone for Zephyr Secure in realizing our stated mission to be the go-to, one-stop source for engineered lock, hardware, and storage solutions,” said Zephyr Secure CEO Patrick Wind.
Zephyr Secure itself was created earlier this year as the Wind group of companies reorganized its Wind Hardware, Zephyr Lock and Zephyr Fluid Solutions divisions under one integrated company.
Terms of the deal for Royal Hardware and RCI were not disclosed.
