News 8’s Dennis House set to debut new weekly public affairs show

WTNH News 8 on Tuesday announced the debut of a new weekly public affairs program that will be hosted by well-known news anchor Dennis House, who parted ways with WFSB Ch. 3 last year.

“This Week in Connecticut with Dennis House” will  premiere this Sunday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. on News 8.

The new show will focus on issues facing local communities in the state.

“Our state is facing challenging times,”  House said. “This show will allow me to tackle the issues that matter most, and break down what the impact could be for the residents of our state.”

House’s new show will air Sunday mornings and be immediately followed by “Capitol Report” hosted by Tom Dudchik at 10:30 a.m.

A longtime anchor on Rocky Hill-based WFSB, House co-anchored the station’s flagship Eyewitness News program at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and interviewed state leaders on the CBS affiliate’s Sunday morning political show, “Face the State.”

House left his anchor post at WFSB-TV in September.
