Newly formed Bloomfield manufacturer Arxis, tied to Kaman Corp., files for IPO

A Bloomfield-based industrial manufacturer that includes Kaman Corp.’s operations and supplies parts used in aircraft, defense systems and medical devices is planning to go public.

Arxis Inc. — backed by private equity firm Arcline Investment Management, which acquired Bloomfield-based Kaman in a $1.8 billion deal in 2024 — has filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an initial public offering of its stock. The company is seeking to list on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol “ARXS.”

The company did not disclose how many shares it plans to sell or at what price.

Arxis is a relatively new entity, formed in October 2025, that brings together a group of industrial businesses assembled by Arcline through a series of acquisitions since 2019, including Kaman and other specialized component manufacturers.

Arxis employs about 5,750 people globally and is headquartered at 1332 Blue Hills Ave. in Bloomfield, the former headquarters of Kaman.

It’s not clear how many employees the company has in Connecticut.

The company designs and manufactures highly engineered components used in demanding environments — including military and space systems, commercial aircraft, medical devices and industrial equipment.

Arxis reported about $1.6 billion in revenue in 2025 and $46 million in net income.

Before the stock offering, Arxis said plans to complete a corporate restructuring that will combine its various business units under a single parent company.

Following the IPO, Arcline is expected to retain control through a dual-class share structure that gives it outsized voting power.

Arxis said it plans to use proceeds from the offering primarily to pay down debt and support general business operations.

The company operates dozens of manufacturing sites, including a significant U.S. footprint, and serves more than 5,000 customers.

The IPO has not yet been priced, and a timeline for the offering has not been announced.
